Obituary for Brenda Lewis (Forrester)

Brenda Lewis (Forrester)
Brenda Diane Lewis, 63, of Belle, passed away at the home of her daughter Tuesday, December 21, 2016.
She was born on December 10, 1953 in Jefferson City, the daughter of Charles William Forrester and Rosemary (Province) Forrester.

Brenda’s family moved to California and then back to Missouri when her father retired from the Navy. Retirement led to the purchase of a farm in the White Church Community in Howell County near West Plains. She attended elementary school at Junction Hill and was a graduate of West Plains High School. She also attended college in West Plains.

Brenda spent a lot of time caring for farm animals and working on the farm. She was always caring for all animals. At the age of 25, she became manager of a PN Hurst Store.

In 1981, Brenda was united in marriage to Ronald (Ron) Lewis. They lived in Cassville for one year before moving to Belle. She worked for Tri-County Newspapers and Walmart in Owensville. When Ron became ill, Brenda quit her job and cared for him. She spent the last 20 years as a housewife.

Brenda loved going for walks and fishing. Sight-seeing and traveling made her happy. She loved the ocean and picking up sea shells. She enjoyed knitting (especially scarves), making flower arrangements, reading, listening and singing to music, and sending letters and cards to her family and friends. Her greatest love was spending time with her family and friends. She was the family’s Christmas elf. She always went out of her way to help others.

Survivors include her husband, Ron, of the home in Belle; daughter April (Benton) Muenks and husband Shawn of Jefferson City; daughter Ronda (Lewis) Rountree of Lawrence, KS; son Kurt James Lewis of Branson; son Sean Douglas Lewis and wife Jesse of Lawrence, KS; one brother, Steven Forrester of West Plains; grandchildren Clarissa and husband Josh Sommers of Springfield, Jasmine and husband Dusty Tyler of Columbia, Danielle Rountree of Nebraska, Linzee Rountree of Lawrence, KS and Lilly Lewis of Lawrence, KS; and two great-grandchildren, Paighten Marvin of Lawrence, KS and Hayes Tyler of Columbia.

A memorial service was held Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the Moore Funeral Home in Irondale, MO.
